Call for Student Volunteers

Student Volunteers play a crucial role in the success of any event. gamescom asia would like to invite you to participate in gamescom asia as a Student Volunteer.

Application Process

Interested students are required to complete the online application form by Friday, 18 August 2023, 18:00 SGT.

Successful applicants will be notified via email by Friday, 15 September 2023.

Why You Should Volunteer

As a student volunteer, you will have the unique opportunity to network with professionals and peers within the video game industry. Direct access to industry insiders such as game developers and publishers presents the opportunity for student volunteers to gain exposure and insight into the latest trends and innovations in the industry.

Furthermore, making such connections at gamescom asia can be instrumental in opening doors for students who are looking to build a career in the video game industry.

Please note that all student volunteer positions are unpaid, and volunteers are responsible for their own transportation and accommodation during the event.

Job Scope

Duties and Responsibilities:

Commit at least ~12 hours (in total), from 19 to 22 October 2023, of volunteer service to the event. Examples of Student Volunteer duties may include but are not limited to:

Visitor Assistance: Provide friendly and helpful assistance to attendees, including answering questions, providing directions, and guiding visitors to different areas of the convention.
Conference Assistance: Assist with Q&A sessions and enquiries from conference attendees.
Crowd Control: Checking tickets, managing queues and crowd flow in the conference and B2B2C exhibition.

Requirements:

Enrolled as a full-time student in institutes of higher learning (e.g. polytechnics and universities) during the 2023 calendar year, or graduated after 1 January 2023.
At least 18 years of age as of 18 October 2023
Willing and able to fulfil the required amount of on-site volunteer service allocated by the Student Volunteer Program.
Proficient in the English language.
Preferably based in Singapore.
If joining from overseas, must be able to cover own transportation and accommodation.
